Xinyu Wang

Welcome to my personal space! I am currently a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick, and as a visiting PhD student at the Department of Informatics, King’s College London, under the guidance of Prof. Yulan He and Dr. Lin Gui.

Before the PhD adventure, I finished my M.S. at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and my B.E. at both Queen Mary University of London (First Class Honours) and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

Besides that, I had an internship at IBM Research as Research Intern for two months. I had a full-time work for about one year as Algorithm Engineer at the XiaoAi Group of Xiaomi developing XiaoAi (a virtual assistant comparable to Siri). I will start an internship as Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon AWS in August researching in Large Language Models.

Overall, my focus is on Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. Currently, I concentrate on Large Language Models (LLMs), with a particular focus on reasoning, efficiency, long-context understanding, and meta-learning. My focus shifted to LLMs in 2024, and prior to that, I worked on long-document understanding and efficiency in Language Models. My master’s degree centered on multi-modality and machine reading comprehension.
